Minimum Impact/Leave No Trace

With more people enjoying the backcountry every year, wear and tear can destroy the beauty and solitude we love. By learning about the various ecosystems and areas, we can make decisions that will minimize our impact without compromising our enjoyment and experience. The seven topics of Leave No Trace and how they apply to various parts of Colorado and Utah will be covered in this seminar.

How To Build a Mound Fire

Fires can be damaging both from wood gathering and from fire scars that leave a trace on rocks and sterilize the soil. A mound fire is more ecological way of building a fire without damaging soil or scarring rocks.
